L´Antica Dogana is a magnificent villa in a stunning organic farm estate set in the picturesque hills of Umbria, the green heart of Italy. 

The terraced gardens which surround the house were created by a famous Tuscan landscape designer and are truly stunning.  Numerous seating areas offer fabulous views over the hills and valleys below, and lavender, jasmine, rosemary, thyme, sage, roses and even a sweet curry plant all flourish in the sunshine, emanating their delightful scents.

Other features in the garden are the large heated infinity pool whose views are simply breathtaking, sure to leave a mark on your memory for years following your holiday. A gazebo complete with authentic stone barbeque and pizza oven is the ideal place for a lazy lunch or romantic evening dining. Finally, a shady boules court tucked away will keep you entertained.

If you can bear to drag yourselves away from your exclusive haven then there is lots to see and do in the area: Many enjoyable (but hilly!) country walks, horse-riding lessons and outings, natural spring spas, cooking lessons, shopping at the designer outlet centres and even a jazz festival (in Perugia in the summer and Orvieto in the winter). Furthermore, Umbria is famous all over the world for three things in particular – truffles, pecorino cheese and Orvieto wine.

Interior

The main building in the tower features various reception rooms; a grand dining room with a large table, fabulous fully-equipped kitchen, separate breakfast room and a guest cloakroom. The first floor is home to more living space with both a lounge and an additional television/music room, a bar, billiards room and further guest cloakroom.

You will find flat screen televisions with sky and surround-sound in both rooms, as well as a Nintendo Wii, iPod music system and DVD/CD players- all the mod cons you could possibly wish for. The first three bedrooms including the luxury master bedroom are in the main building. All are en-suite with king-size beds.

But there´s still more in the second building across the beautiful courtyard…Downstairs: a comfortable family room, good-size kitchenette, guest cloakroom and shower room as well as your own private gym and sauna. A completely self-contained apartment with a super-king size bed in its bedroom is also on the ground floor. It has a private bathroom, sitting room and fully-equipped kitchen. Continuing to the first floor there are four en suite bedrooms (one with super king-size bed, one with king-size bed and two with twins).
