Exterior

Villa Alps is a unique 16th century lodge, nestled in the heart of the Dolomites, a Natural World Heritage site, among forests, secret footpaths and lush meadows- a real retreat to escape to.

There is plenty to keep you occupied all year round. In winter, of course excellent downhill and cross-country skiing and snowboarding are available, but you might want to try paragliding with a professional coach? Or else snow-shoe hiking, a moon-lit sleigh ride or even an introduction to wood carving? In the summer there are incredible hiking and mountain biking routes to be explored, rock-climbing and rafting, or, for something a little less energetic you can pick berries and gather mushrooms with your hosts in the lodge´s woodlands, visit wineries and dairies for cheese-tasting, and participate in cooking classes or meditation and relaxation with the lodge´s health coach.

Interior

There are several reception rooms on the ground floor. A spacious day room with free internet access, DVD player, satellite television, iPod docking station and children´s games; the Tea room comprised of a cozy lounge and reading room with a small library and sound system, a perfect place to curl up by the fire and let any tension drift away.

Guests are invited to prepare their own meals with local organic products in the tastefully renovated vaulted kitchen. It is fully equipped with state of the art appliances. Alternatively, you can choose to be treated by the lady of the house or a renowned chef who will introduce you to the delicious regional cuisine. The dining room is a traditional Tyrolean “stube,” a charming entirely wooden panelled room. An original stone goat shed just outside the lodge has been converted into a well-stocked wine cellar from which the host will help you to make your selection.

Each of the 4 bedrooms has a character of its own. The furnishings are beautiful, making use of natural materials and bright coloured accents. 2 are bedrooms with double beds and en suite bathrooms. The other 2, one of which is another double and one a dormitory style room for 4 people with 2 bunk beds, particularly fun for children, share a family bathroom. Although you can´t possibly need any more help winding down, Villa Alps has some wellbeing facilities to encourage you to do just that. There is both an indoor and outdoor Jacuzzi, Turkish bath and an outdoor lounge and recreation area. Various spa services are on offer too.
